Cerro Bayo Ski Resort
Wednesday 24 August 2016
Cerro Bayo is a little secret gem of a ski resort in Argentina, nestled between Chepalco and it’s biggest neighbour, Bariloche (where we’re going next). They even call it “ski boutique”. Although it’s smaller than its neighbours, it is still way bigger than Hotham. The weather has been quite warm for a while, nevertheless the snow was still good and the views over the lake below were really beautiful.
Then the next day the weather was terrible. We took the lift to the top station and the weather really turned and the snow was pelting down. In short, Michelle got ‘cranky’ with some “beep, beep, beep-beep, beep” moments. Back to the hotel for sitting around the fire and playing billiards. Trevor, of course, kept skiing and came home soaking wet. He said he had a good day (because he’s a nut-job).
Notwithstanding the bad weather, the views over the lake from our suite look very atmospheric.
